Raising the public profile of radiographers is a frequent request to the Society by members. Now is your chance to make sure that the world knows we're not nurses!
In the spirit of the season, Synergy News will donate £200 to the charity of choice of the member who comes up with the tag line that encapsulates what it is that radiographers do best. A donation of £100 will go to the charity named by the second place winner and £50 to the third.
The National Union of Teachers had 'If you can read this, thank a teacher', which was printed on a car sticker and distributed to NUT members.
"We don't need much," says Richard Evans, the SoR's chief executive. "Just a line that succinctly and memorably sums up the profession for the benefit of a lay audience.
"The Radiographer and the Team of the Year competitions have done a lot to publicise who we are and what we do, but we need other initiatives as well."
• So, budding advertising slogan writers, email your ideas to the Synergy News editor, Emma Abbott by Friday, 16 January. Please include your daytime telephone number and the name of the charity you would like to receive the prize money, should your catchy line win.
The winning slogans, along with the best of the rest, will be published in the February issue of Synergy News. Entries are the copyright of the Society of Radiographers and may be used by the organisation to promote the profession.
