Plans for the SoR 2009 Annual Delegates Conference (ADC) are well underway, with more than 60 motions on the agenda for the conference.
Student representatives from each SoR region are invited to attend the SoR Annual Delegates Conference (ADC), which will be held in Brighton from 19-21 April.
The event sees representative SoR members from each SoR region attend ADC debate and vote on motions on industrial relations, health and safety, professional development and related issues. Motions which are carried go forward to the elected UK Council for acceptance as SoR policy.
Last year's conference saw several student motions carried, including one about SoR student membership fees. This year there are six motions specifically relating to student issues.
Rick Miles of London South Bank University, student representative for SoR London region reported back from his first SoR Annual Delegates Conference in Leeds, 2008. "At the conference I was privileged enough to speak and put forward a motion," he said.
"As well as the motions and debate there was plenty of time for food, dancing and beers! It’s a fantastic experience meeting other radiographers and students from all over the UK. I would thoroughly recommend to all students get involved with the society. Not only does it mean you're shaping the future of your profession, but it also looks great on your CV."
