Students will say what their union should fight for at the SoR Annual Delegates Conference (ADC) 2009.
Due to be held in Brighton from 19-21 April, the congress draws representative SoR members from each region to debate and vote on motions covering industrial relations, health and safety and professional development.
Motions carried go forward to the elected UK Council for acceptance as SoR policy.
Last year's conference saw several student motions carried, including one about SoR student membership fees.
This year there are six motions specifically relating to student issues. Topics covered include:
• Concerns that diagnostic students don't feel adequately prepared for becoming a newly qualified radiographer
• New SoR guidelines to improve student retention
• Providing quality clinical tuition for increasing numbers of radiography students
• Should all health profession undergraduates' bursaries be non-means tested?
Look out in the next StudentTalk for the results.
