An Sony Ereader and high street shopping vouchers are amongst the prizes on offer at the SoR stand at this year's UKRC.
Held from Monday 8-Wednesday 10 June in Manchester Central, UKRC is a three day multidisciplinary congress covering all aspects of diagnostic imaging and oncology.
The SoR is inviting all students to drop in to stand 321 where there will be free chocolates to munch on as they chat to the team of executives and professional officers, who are happy to answer any questions.
For final year students there will also be the opportunity to enter one of two competitions: SoR members who update their contact details with the Society on the stand will be entered into a prize draw with first prize a £200 Sony Ereader and five runner-up prizes of £50 in high street vouchers.
For non-members in their final year there will be the chance to get 6 months free SoR membership if they sign up as a member on the stand.
Elsewhere at the event, students can gain access to the exhibition free of charge to see the latest equipment from companies including Siemens, Toshiba, GE, and Philips and the ‘Education on the Stand’ initiative will return to provide CPD value in the UKRC exhibition. Companies run a series of educational workshops, lectures and hands on demos, many of which are CoR accredited for CPD.
The main scientific programme, for paying delegates only, includes several sessions on career development that will be of particular interest for students.
SoR CEO Richard Evans commented: "I cannot recommend UKRC enough to students. Companies exhibiting are keen to show you the latest technology as they value you as the next generation of radiographers. You can see speakers from all around the world and meet radiographers from every level of the profession.
"Attending will give you a great insight into the profession you are joining and shows prospective employers that you are committed and proactive in making the most of your opportunities."
He added: "I look forward to meeting student delegates on the SoR stand."
Full registration for UKRC can be booked at a reduced student rate of £40 for one day (down from £115), £55 for two days (down from £180), £70 for three days (down from £240).
