Student reps: represent your peers confidently on equality and diversity issues with new SoR training.
The Equalities Study Day will be held on Wednesday 23 September 2009 from 10.15am to 3.15pm.
SoR equalities officer, Richard Pembridge said: "Students are as likely to suffer discrimination at university or on clinical placement as radiographers in departments so we are encouraging all student reps to take advantage of this course.
"The training will mean reps know how to access relevant legislation and know who to contact if they hear from other students have problems."
Sessions include: 'Equalities and employee rights – where are we now?' Sarah Veale, head of equality & employment rights TUC and 'Equalities in practice workshop – Tackling discrimination in the workplace'.
The event is free of charge to all Society members and will be endorsed by CPD Now. Lunch will be provided.
