The new SoR Student Working Group has pledged to build a network for students in every university to ensure all voices are heard.
The group is comprised of SoR student reps from each region who meet every three months to develop the services on offer to students from the Society and assist with student campaigns in the wider profession.
Current projects include the promotion of the Student of the Year Award, development of information and resources for first year students and planning the annual SoR student conference.
However, the biggest challenge for the group will be their promise to build a student network in every university.
Each group member will be contacting reps in their region to begin a dialogue, but to put yourself forward sooner go to the SoR website to find details of your regional student rep and email expressing your interest.
Getting involved will not only give you a voice within your profession, but you will also have the chance to make new friends and to show your committment to the profession to prospective employers.
