Registration for UKRC now open

Students are entitled to a reduced rate ticket to access the exhibition and lecture programme at this year's United Kingdom Radiological Congress (UKRC).

Held from Monday 7-Wednesday 9 June IA & ICC, Birmingham, the three day multidisciplinary congress covers all aspects of diagnostic imaging.

The programme provides opportunities for accredited CPD and registration gives access to all lectures.

This year, for the first time, there is a free stream aimed at those early in their career. Taking place throughout Wednesday 9 June this includes a student radiographer scientific session, with the American Society of Radiologic Technologists Dr Sarah Baker

Another major attraction for 2010 is a free satellite session in the exhibition hall where the National Cancer Director Mike Richards and National Clinical Director of Diagnostic Imaging, Erika Denton will take questions on the proposals for improving imaging in cancer care.

Following its success last year the ‘Education on the Stand’
initiative will return to provide CPD value in the UKRC exhibition. Companies including Siemens, Toshiba, GE, and Philips run a series of educational workshops, lectures and hands on demos. Delegates who attend gain a CoR accredited CPD certificate for their portfolio.

Full registration for the conference is available for undergraduate students at the heavily discounted rates of £42.10 for one day attendance to £73.67 for three day registration. All prices inclusive of VAT.

It is also possible to attend the exhibition on a free visitor ticket. This also allows access to some key lectures, satellite symposia and the student radiographer session on Wednesday afternoon.

Social events will be held at Birmingham's Mechu Nightclub on Monday 7 June and the Jools Holland JamHouse on Tuesday 8 June.
