The University of Salford is running a UK-wide online survey to determine the emotional intelligence of radiographers.
Emotional intelligence is the extent to which people can recognise, process and utilise emotional information. It has the potential to affect the performance of radiographers and influence such things as the way they interact with patients, colleagues, undertake leadership roles and manage stress.
Under the leadership of Professor Stuart Mackay, the emotional intelligence research team at the uni will run the survey with funding from the College of Radiographers Industry Partnership Scheme (CORIPS).
Why not join in? Just log on to the website and spend five to 10 minutes completing the survey. Your emotional intelligence score will be sent to you, along with subscale scores and comparison data.
To take the survey, log onto the research team's website. The team wants to obtain a sample size of at least a quarter of the profession (around 5000 people).
A two-part article on the emotional intelligence study is available now in the April edition of Synergy Imaging & Therapy Practice. Regular updates will appear in Synergy News and on the website.
