The SoR and national radiotherapy advocates are to star in a new NHS TV programme.
The 30 minute programme will be screened in September, and aims to educate the NHS and general public about what radiography can offer.
Charlotte Beardmore, SoR's professional officer for radiotherapy, said: "We persuaded the producer that it would be useful if NRIG, the radiotherapy special interest group, could be involved. As a member organisation of NRIG, we wanted to ensure the right messages were conveyed to highlight the vast amount of work underway in radiotherapy departments across England (and the UK).
"This programme offers the opportunity to raise awareness about radiotherapy and its effectiveness at a time when investment in service is crucial."
The producer has since been in contact and offered Richard (Evans, the SoR's chief executive officer) the SoR slot too. He said: "This is very positive indeed, and so we are now armed with a detailed list of questions ahead of the filming, which is likely to take place this month.
The episode is due to be broadcast up to six times in full on Sky Channel 166 and BBC Freesat 402 from 4 September.
Following this, branded DVDs and video links of the episode will be sent by name direct to every NHS Trust, including managers, GPs and PCTs. Video links of the entire episode will be made available to all 1.6 million NHS employees from 17 September, and the entire episode will also be streamed on a loop on the NHS247 website.
