Mark Terry has been elected as the Society's student delegate UK Council observer.
Each year the Society members elect a student observer to attend Council meetings and give a student perspective on the issues being talked about.
Mark is a second year student at University Campus Suffolk. Commenting
on his new role, he said: āIām really looking forward to talking to students about the work of the Council and Society and getting them much more involved.ā
"I have enjoyed the role of clinical student rep and regional student
rep, with the SoR, and wanted to continue this in a new role. I believe this is a priviledged role and therefore wish to provide an active and committed role on behalf of all students across the country.
"I believe local issues I have come across are issues that are encountered by students across the country, including SoR fees and clinical hours in practise. At the Annual Delegates Conference the motion carried on the issue of fees is of particular interest as it had sound support at the conference and I will ensure it will be thoroughly followed up.
"The previous student observer Kris Owden was a committed observer so I want to continue his good work, including his involvement in the StudentTalk inception. Then to improve areas such as contact information and communications between all regional student reps across the country and to make students aware that the SoR actually has student reps in each regional who can provide help or advice on topical issues."
